The Singapore Book Fair is jointly organised by Singapore Press Holdings Chinese Newspapers Division and Marshall Cavendish Business Information Pte Ltd, and supported by the Singapore Ministry of Education, National Library Board, ASEAN Book Publishers Association, Singapore Book Publishers Association, National Book Development Council of Singapore, The Strait Times, Lianhe Zaobao, Lianhe Wanbao, Shin Min Daily News, My Paper, SPH MediaBox Office, and Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Now in its...year, it is the longest running book fair in Singapore. Formerly known as the World Book Fair, the name was changed to the Singapore Book Fair in 2009 to align it with the general tenor of the show with its mix of products and activities that appeal to the Singapore audience.
